A notary and signing-services identity built on the visual language of the record itself: hairline rules, wide margins, letterspaced captions, and a brass seal. There are no shadows anywhere in this system — authority comes from restraint, not depth.

Do

Let parchment carry the page. Whitespace is the primary design element here.
Use brass at 1–2px as a rule or border, where its contrast doesn't matter.
Reserve seal red for things that are genuinely wrong or expired.

Don't

Set brass text on white at body size — 3.1:1 fails AA. Brass is for graphics and 20px+ display.
Fill large areas with navy. One filled button and the footer, nothing more.
Add a shadow to "lift" a card. Use a hairline and more padding instead.

02 — Typography

Lora signs, Source Sans records

The serif is for the human parts — names, headings, values on a record. The sans handles anything procedural.

Headings, the wordmark, record values, and pull quotes. Lora's italic is reserved for the ampersand in the wordmark and for quoted client language — nowhere else.

Bring a current government-issued photo ID for every signer. If the document names a witness, that witness must be present and separately identified. We keep a bound journal entry for each notarial act, retained for seven years.

Paragraphs, labels, tables, forms, navigation. Line height 1.65 — long copy needs the air.

Rules of thumb

If a person could sign it, it's Lora. If a clerk would file it, it's Source Sans.
Body measure caps at 62 characters. This is a reading brand.
Labels always carry .14em tracking; kickers carry .18em.
Never bold Lora past 600 — 700 exists for the wordmark only.
No italics in the sans, ever.

03 — Shape & Depth

Hairlines, double rules, and air

Corners are 2px — technically square, visually soft. The only depth cue in the system is the amount of space around a thing.

Card padding is 28px, section spacing is 64px, and body line height is 1.65. If a layout feels cramped, add space before you add a border.

Navy is the single primary. Outline is the everyday secondary. Brass fill is rare — a document download or a confirmation, not general navigation.
