This fits if
- You have a team already, and want to add to it rather than outsource around it
- You can give an outside engineer real access, repo, planning, review
- The work is ongoing or scoped in weeks, not a one-afternoon fix
- You want the engineer to leave documentation behind, not just commits
- You’d rather borrow a specific skill than hire for it permanently
This doesn’t fit if
- You want a fixed-price deliverable with no involvement, that’s a Build project
- You can’t grant access to systems for security or policy reasons
- You need someone on call around the clock, talk to us about Run instead
- You’re looking for the cheapest hourly rate available
Situations we see most
A small team missing one skill
Three good product engineers and nobody who wants to own networking or deployment architecture. That gap is expensive to hire for and cheap to borrow.
A deadline that arrived early
You need capacity for a quarter, not a headcount req. Ten-hour increments make that straightforward to start and to stop.
An agency that needs depth
You’re strong on design and client relationships and want an engineer who can sit in your process without being introduced as a subcontractor.
